We offer various community workshops and certification programs through the CER Energy Institute, a partnership with the National Association of Royalty Owners. These programs are designed to assist land and prospective royalty owners, as well as offer training for oil, gas and energy professionals.

This program is ideal for existing and prospective royalty owners who want to acquire the knowledge and skills to manage their mineral assets more effectively. The program is also open to attorneys, accountants, financial advisers, and consultants who work closely with mineral owners. The instructors are certified mineral managers and experienced mineral owners who have broad experience in teaching the fundamental skills that royalty owners must possess to interact effectively with operators and maximize the return on investment in their mineral assets.
Advanced Royalty Owner Program – Offered in San Antonio Fort Worth Midland
The Advanced Royalty Owner Program is targeted toward individuals who have knowledge of the industry, are familiar with mineral management or have completed the basic Royalty Owner Program. This program will focus on more advanced legal and operational concepts to help maximize the mineral owners’ return on investment from in their mineral assets. It is also open to licensed professionals who advise and support mineral owners, including attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, trust officers, lenders, investors, estate planners, consultants and minerals managers. Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded a certificate from the TCU Energy Institute signifying that they have mastered this body of knowledge.
This program focuses on the modern day unconventional shale plays and how they differ from conventional oil and gas exploration and development. It provides mineral owners with a basic understanding of the geology of the minerals that they own and how they are identified, produced, and sold. It also covers the “hot topics” that mineral owners must understand to take full advantage of these valuable assets. These topics include seismic exploration, horizontal drilling, hydraulic fracturing, waste water disposal, and environmental issues. It is also open to licensed professionals who advise and support large mineral owners, including attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, trust officers, lenders, investors, estate planners, consultants, and minerals managers. Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded a certificate of completion from the TCU Energy Institute signifying that they have completed the program.
CER can also work with firms to create a customized program to fit the specific needs of its employees or shareholders. We will design the program, and our facilitators will deliver it on site or at a mutually agreed-upon location.
